Karen Plescia, M.S. is the College and School Placements Lead as an Educational Consultant with
The Goldberg Center for Educational Planning™. She draws from over ten years of experience in higher education to bring college and secondary school placement solutions to students of all academic levels pursuing their dreams. Karen specializes in the recruitment process for student-athletes as well as support service provisioning for students with specialized talents and needs.
Prior to joining
The Goldberg Center for Educational Planning™, Karen served as the Director of Student-Athlete Support Services for Boston University’s Department of Athletics. In that capacity, she gained invaluable insight into university recruiting procedures and NCAA compliance standards. Specifically, she managed closely the link between BU’s Division 1 Department of Athletics and Office of Admissions. Additionally, Karen counseled students regarding choice of major and academic and life skills development. She also worked closely with families throughout the matriculation process and subsequently as a resource and advocate.
In previous years, Karen was Assistant Director of Student Activities at College of the Holy Cross. There she combined her background in higher education with a penchant for program design and implementation to bring students at Holy Cross better solutions for campus life.
Karen initially delved in to the world of higher education when she embraced a myriad of responsibilities within the administration at Syracuse University. Her positions at Syracuse ranged from Judicial Hearing Officer within the Office of Residential Life to Academic Counselor to professional development programming for educators.

Karen earned both a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Syracuse University. Outside of work, Karen can often be found creating and implementing workout programs as a National Strength and Conditioning Association certified personal trainer. She also enjoys spending her time cooking, traveling and doing animal-oriented charity work.
