ISEE and SSAT Testing

The Goldberg Center for Educational PlanningTM is a test center for both the ISEE and SSAT.  We administer both exams multiple times throughout the year in a small, quiet setting that is conducive to test-taking.

ISEE SSATIn addition, we can also recommend the most effective SSAT prep and ISEE prep tutoring services for students who are preparing for or trying to raise an SSAT score or an ISEE score.

Please contact our test coordinator, Sharyn, directly for details on registering to take an exam with us and for a current schedule of our test dates and testing fees.

Please note that we are able to administer both the ISEE and SSAT to students who have qualified through the appropriate testing organization for accommodations due to learning disabilities.

Most private schools and some competitive public (e.g., charter and magnet schools) will require some sort of standardized testing as part of the admissions process. It is best to check with each school to find out what test scores they would like submitted for your child.

ISEE

Most widely accepted by independent schools, the ISEE is an admissions test administered by the Educational Records Bureau (ERB).  The ISEE is offered at three levels:

  • Lower (candidates entering grades 5 & 6)
  • Middle (entering grades 7 & 8)
  • Upper (entering grades 9 - 12)

SSAT

The SSAT is an admissions exam that is required by a number of independent schools, particularly boarding schools, in the United States and Canada.  It is a timed aptitude test that consists of multiple choice questions and a brief essay.  The SSAT is administered to students entering high school or currently enrolled at the high school level.  Students' scores are reported as a percentile in comparison with their grade cohort.
