Parochial Schools

Parochial SchoolsParochial primary, elementary, and secondary schools are governed by a religious organization.  These include Catholic schools and Jewish schools.  Such schools provide federal and state-mandated compulsory education while incorporating religious education.

The admissions requirements and the timeline for applying to parochial schools may vary from those of independent day and boarding schools.  For example, many Catholic high schools utilize the COOP or the High School Placement Test (HSPT) as the standardized test for admission in lieu of the the ISEE or SSAT.  The tests are typically administered by the individual school, not on national test dates.

Understanding these differences in the application process and keeping track of the assorted timelines are just a few of the ways our educational consultants can help your student successfully apply to parochial schools.
